Biblical history teaches something much different. At the beginning, God created a mature and functional place for people to live. People are at the center of the creation. All of history revolves around people and God’s plan for us. The first people, Adam and Eve, chose to disobey God and unleashed God’s curse upon the creation. The world became a wicked place, to the extent that God decided to kill all of the people and land animals in a global flood, saving just a remnant to reseed the Earth afterwards. The population started to grow again. God wanted the people to spread out around the world, but they liked staying together at Babel and decided to build a tall tower to the heavens. God confused their language so that they couldn’t work together anymore, forcing them to move on as God wanted. But from the beginning God had a plan to redeem mankind from their sinful nature. He called Abraham to found the nation of Israel, through which God would work His plan. When the time was right, God sent His Son, Jesus, to teach us much more about how we should live and relate to God. Most importantly though, Jesus died on a cross as a sacrifice for the sins of the world. He paid the penalty that a just and holy God demands for sin. This was the single most important event in all of history and changed things forever. Now those who put their trust in Christ as Lord and savior can have assurance of life everlasting in heaven one day. Unlike those professing the evolutionary worldview, Christians have much to look forward to!
