Notes:

A key difference between the evolutionary and creation views lies in the origin of man himself. To the evolutionist, animals and man are of the same basic nature. The Bible, however, gives a much different perspective – that animals and man are the result of separate and distinct creative actions, and that the fundamental nature of man is different. Man is created “in the image of God” and therefore has a consciousness and moral standing that animals do not share. It is true that God used much of the same body plan for man and animals like apes, but this is not surprising as they live in the same environment and have very similar physical needs. It is the mental and moral attributes that make man different, not primarily physical attributes.
