I would like to talk about the Scientific Method and how this is the corner stone of science. We will look at the Theory of Evolution, and how much of the theory is testable by the scientific method. We will be looking at the question of how did life start on planet earth, does organic evolution occur and does the hard evidence (don’t mind the pun) of the fossil record show. Another topic, one of my favorites, is what I call the “Parallel Structure” enigma, i.e., how do you “evolve” a complex organism that requires several interdependent systems, each of which must magically form at the right time. There are numerous examples of this in nature, sexual reproduction, the bombardier beetle, etc. This concept has been popularized by Behe’s mousetrap example, where he points out that unless all the pieces are there nothing works.
