I think it works a little like the game of Simon Says. The scientific community generates a lot of non-controversial information, e.g., weights of molecules, planetary trajectories , etc. (Simon says…do this) Much of this knowledge produces innovations that have dramatically improved the quality of our lives. But since science is constrained to a stance of materialism, it does not consider intelligent force to intervene. So although the theory of evolution is severely flawed, and not verifiable by experiment, it is the best materialistic theory around. The problem occurs when it is overstated (Do this).
