Notes:

As is the case with many books written by technical authors, you have to read a ways through the book to get to the core of the message. Here is the crux of the matter from page 124.
Professor Gitt is saying that any evolutionary view must account for the origin of the information of life, but it has never been demonstrated that information can be produced via an evolutionary (unguided physical) process. He further states that not only has it not been demonstrated, but that it never could be demonstrated, as the theorems he outlines in his book predict it cannot happen.
His final theorem, Theorem 28 states: “There is no known law of nature, no known process and no known sequence of events which can cause information to originate by itself in matter.”
He goes on to say (page 107): This was also the conclusion of the seventh “International Conference on the origins of life” held together with the fourth congress of the “International Society for the Study of the Origin of Life (ISSOL)” in Mainz. At such occasions scientists from all over the world exchange their latest results. In his review of the congress, Klaus Dose writes: “A further puzzle remains, namely the question of the origin of biological information, i.e. the information residing in our genes today.” Not even the physical building blocks required for the storage of the information can construct themselves: “The spontaneous formation of simple nucleotides or even of poly-nucleotides which were able to be replicated on the pre-biotic earth, should now be regarded as improbable in the light of the very many unsuccessful experiments in this regard.”
