As the slide says, a true transitional would have “scale-feathers”, but no such fossil has ever been found! This is odd, given that the transformation from scales to feathers would have been very long, as many changes are needed. Plus, we have very many reptile and bird fossils – what are the chances that all of the intermediate forms have not yet been found? The evolutionist answer is “punctuated equilibrium”, the idea that evolution happens relatively quickly in local areas, thus making it less likely that intermediate fossils will be found.
