There were Stations generally cut at every 100 foot level. From these stations tunnels (or drifts) have been extended to intersect an follow the ore body. At the 1850 level a drift was driven a out a quarter of a mile to the North where an underground shaft (or winze) was sunk to a total depth of 2550 feet below the surface.

Other levels were cut out from this winze at 100 foot levels making 2,550 the lowest working level of the mine.
